Project: PHP Tell A Friend Script with Captcha
Technologies: PHP, Captcha, Text Files
Cost: $25 USD
Ever been to a great website and wanted to tell your friends about it? But the moment you leave the website and surf off to another one – you’ve already forgotten what the url was? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to just send your friend a personalized email right from the website you’re on?
Tell A Friend functionality isn’t new – and it’s actually been swept under the table by newer fancier ‘feedback’ style scripts. I’ve created this simple PHP tell a friend script (a modification of the PHP Contact Form) to allow you to send a personalized email to your friend.
What’s important to note about this Tell A Friend script, is that it has many anti-spam features which are essential and shouldn’t be overlooked. Captcha – the use of a generated image, will slow down spambots from auto-submitting and hijacking your Tell A Friend form for their own malicious uses. Many web forms are hijacked, and ‘stuffed’ with email addresses so spammers can send spam through your form – I’ve done my best to stop this from your Tell A Friend form.
Another cool feature of this PHP Tell A Friend script is that the message sent to your friends is loaded from a text file. So you can customize the look and content of the message easily.
Here’s a working example of my project below. Please give it a test to tell your friends about Custom-Coding.com
