Project: Easy HTML Comments
Technologies: AJAX, PHP, Text Files
Price: $14.95 USD
Commenting is the cornerstone of the web right now. Especially with the introduction and massive usage of Facebook and Twitter. It seems like everyone is “Hey! nice status!” or “Show me your Tweets!”. So I’ve taken the essence of social networking and boiled it down to the basics – comments on your webpage.
Comments can be a great way to add content, and interaction to your webpages. So many people are building webpages, but are scared to take the leap into a dynamic system like WordPress or other blog tools.
Easy HTML Comments is a ‘code-less’ way to add dynamic user-driven comments to your static webpages.
How does it work? You just copy some simple HTML and JavaScript into your webpage, and BAM! it’s all set up. Setting up Easy HTML Comment is meant to take under 10 minutes. You’ll receive an email each time someone posts a comment. In the email are two links – one to approve the comment and one to edit the comment. Either of these links will take you to a login page where you login with a password – and then your comment will be approved or removed.
The goal of Easy HTML Comments is to allow a webmaster ultimate control over the comments posted on their website. I didn’t create it with spammers in mind – so the manual approval of comments is the safest way to keep quality control over your comments.
